Biostatistician / Clinical Epidemiologist
Own the validation protocol and the statistics, and keep us honest about what the data supports.
The role
You will own how Chroneme is measured: pre-registered protocols, the statistics, and the checks that separate real signal from chance or from how care happens to be delivered.
What you’ll do
- Writing and pre-registering validation protocols
- Analysis plans, power and sample size, and the final statistics
- Bias, confounding and fairness analyses across groups and settings
- Co-authoring every validation paper
Your first year
In your first 12 months: a pre-registered protocol run to completion and published.
What you bring
- MS or PhD in biostatistics, epidemiology or related
- Experience with observational clinical data and prediction model evaluation (calibration, TRIPOD)
- R or Python
Nice to have
- Experience with time-to-event and time-varying data
- Publications in clinical journals
About Chroneme
Chroneme is building neuro-symbolic AI for medicine: one record of each person, in order and in context, read by learned models and decided by explicit clinical rules that state their reason and their source. It tells the care team who needs attention and why, and prepares the work for a clinician to sign.
We are a small team in Birmingham, Michigan, building with clinicians and validating under a pre-registered protocol. You will work directly with the founders, with no layers between you and the work. Early team members get meaningful equity.
How we hire
- 1An introductory call about your background and interest (30 minutes, with a co-founder)
- 2A working conversation where you walk us through a project in depth and we discuss how you would approach ours (60 minutes, with the founding team)
